Founder and leader of The Swing Lizards, Joe’s performed professionally since the early 80s. First as a solo acoustic act during his college years, then in a number of bands culminating with the critically acclaimed, award winning Swing Lizards. JB has had the opportunity to perform with some of the coolest grammy winning names at some of the most historic venues over the years and his band has had a virtual "who's who" of jazz and blues musicians that have performed or recorded with them. Now, after a several year hiatus, Joe has returned to performing with his band, with a new acoustic project, and has a developed a passion for videography and film making. JB Digital Media will be opening its doors, focusing on documentaries, short films and music videos.
Martin S . Greenberg
In his 25+ years of practical experience, Martin has shared the bandstand with numerous Jazz luminaries, including pianist Johnny O Neal, Motown drummer Richard Pistol Allen, organist Bill Heid, alto saxophonist Rick Margitza, guitarists Leon Cook, Dan Faehnle, and Henry Johnson. In February, 2004 he was honored to perform on behalf of Dream Works SKG at the annual Night Before celebration in Beverly Hills, CA; an event benefiting the Motion Picture & Television Fund. In October, 2007 Martin performed at the international Jazz fest.
Paul T is, as they say, a musicians musician. A badass guitar player who burns in just about any style and never stops improving. When not jamming with the Lizards Paul can be found gigging with his brother Big Bill all over the Northeast Ohio. Paul has performed at various larger venues here on the north coast and in Florida including the Tampa/St. Pete Sun Dome with the Eastern Promise Keepers Band. He’s performed with Randy Stonehill, Russ Taft and Phil Keaggy, where at one particular show, Phil spotted Paul in the crowd and invited him up to play, Phil then proceeded to sit down in Pauls seat and have a listen. Pretty cool. Lately, Paul’s been spending more time in Los Angeles with his good friend, David Garfield. David is a first call session player in L.A. and George Benson’s music director.
Roger grew up on country and bluegrass. He toured professionally with The Glorylighters, receiving a record deal out of Nashville. In '94 he joined Monterrey, a band that morphed into two top country bands, Tempted and Restless, These bands consistently performed over a 200 shows a year, playing regional clubs and performing shows with Alan Jackson, Mark Collie, Clint Black, Leanne Womack, Joe Diffie, Steve Warner, Tobby Keith, Rusted Root, Jewel and Diamond Rio. They also performed for President Bush in 2004. Roger's solid, driving, deep pocket feel can make any style feel good. In his own words regarding the Lizards: "How can you not love playing with an A-list of Cleveland's who's who of musicians?".
Joe's busy freelance schedule brings him from the club and concert venues on the North Coast to the Orchestra pit and the Allen, State and Palace theatres. After Joe's tenure with the popular First Light and Mr. Sensible, Joe joined the Swing Lizards in 1995. A busy sideman and session player, Joe has also performed with Aretha Franklin, Yes, Arturo Sandoval, Barry Manilow, Bobby Caldwell and Levert, among others. Joe was also a member of Liquid Soul, a grammy nominated Acid Jazz/Fusion/Funk band based out of Chicago.
