Joe Bell & the Lizards are legendary among all types of folks known to frequent venues where live music rocks your soul! The Lizards were founded in 1989 by Joe Bell. Their sound is a blend of jump, swing, blues, jazz, and rock. The bands repertoire draws from several hundred tunes of excellence, and can be disciplined with a tight set that matches the needs of the evening, or they will conjure their magic on the spot to boost the vibe of the crowd. Night after night their eclectic sound fills rooms of all sizes with jumping, screaming, happy humans. It's a great way to spend an evening, just be ready to dance!

Swinging under the stage lights The Lizards have been gigging for years and their hard work and perseverance has earned them the reputation of being one of Northern Ohio's high profile bands. What you get with The Lizards is a band that has performed with names such as: Mick Taylor (former guitarist with the Rolling Stones), Grammy winner Johnny Copeland, NRBQ, Stray Cats, South Side Johnny, Warren Zevon, Fabulous Thunderbirds guitarist Duke Robillard, Jazz Great Maynard Ferguson, Humble Pie, Foghat, Steppenwolf, Little Charlie and the Nightcats, Legendary Blues Band (Muddy Waters' band), former John Lee Hooker guitarist Eddie Kirkland and many others.

The lizards were selected from hundreds of bands to be represented on the WMMS Northcoast Buzzard Tracks CD's (Vols. 1 and 2), featured on the Fox 8 news morning show, broadcast live from the studios of WNCX and featured in their series of live simulcast shows. The success of their nationally distributed CD's "Last Night", "Live at Wilberts", and their new CD "Slither"enables The Lizards to enjoy rotation on various commercial and college radio stations and has sparked some label interest. The Lizards have generated more than usual press coverage and have performed at some of the areas top venues including The Rock Hall of Fame and Museum, Nautica Stage, Cleveland Playhouse, Jacobs Field, Cleveland Browns Stadium, The Palace Theater, Allen Theater, Agora Ballroom and Theater, Northcoast Harbor Stage, The Cleveland Metropark Zoo, The Cleveland Museum of Art, The Great Lakes Science Center, showcased at undercurrents national music conferences and have been heard entertaining throngs of music lovers at significant hot spots elsewhere... the message is The Lizards are right for the moment and right for you.
